Probably one of the most well-known and popular of all the massage types, Swedish massage is a safe therapy that effectively works on the physical and psychological levels of the whole body.
Treatment starts by lying down with only part of the uncovered body massaged. The body experiences long gliding strokes, always in the direction of the heart. Also movements such as kneading, rhythmic tapping, friction and vibration to help relax, ease muscular pain and provide numerous other health benefits such as improving muscle tone, lymphatic drainage (detoxification) and alleviating stress. In all Swedish massage a medium, such as organic sweet almond oil, is used to lubricate the skin truly a holistic massage therapy.
